Building great digital experiences takes hard work – don’t be mislead by anyone that says different. Our firm is named Consensus because we believe gaining consensus is the most challenging part of any engagement. With budgets easily reaching into the millions and digital revenues far beyond that, how can you not plan?
Digital strategy is often the combination of several inputs. For each of our strategic engagements we pick and choose from the right ones in order to diagnose, distill, and innovate. These inputs include the following.
The roadmap to consensus. Lucky for you, we can show you the way.
Never comprising in our quest for the best user experience.
-
Adaptive Brand Review
Adaptive Brand is our assessment insuring the proper interaction across all of the properties in the digital eco-system. Key elements include dialog for authenticity, portability for content socialization, relevance for connection to user goals and consistency for delivering the brand’s messaging throughout the eco-system.
-
Environmental Analysis
The environmental analysis and assessment includes reviewing current interactive brand strategy, its position in the online space, and identifying gaps/issues in that strategy.
-
Research
Consensus performs research two ways – the first includes primary research of current stakeholders and site users. The second includes pulling social technographics of the identified primary and secondary site segments.
-
User Stories
User stories are short concrete descriptions of functionality considered from the perspective of the user. We develop user stories that capture key target audience requirements and map them to content and functionality needs across the entire digital eco-system.
Many Web designers become obsessed with look and feel—partly because it is an easy sell. While it is important that your site is on brand and looks great, its appearance is just one piece of the puzzle. The key is to identify your target user segments and implement a design that they find appealing, but insures user tasks, conversion goals and usability is strictly enforced.
Anyone can do Pretty. We are not just anyone.
Never comprising in our quest for the ultimate user experience.
-
Information Architecture
One of the first—and most important—steps to building a successful site begins by understanding the users mental model for each user segment. Once this is understood in the form of “user stories” a navigational model and wireframes (schematic diagrams that depict the structure, content and prominence of elements on each unique page-type) are created.
-
Usability
Our usability offering is comprised of two areas of expertise—expert review and user testing. An expert review is also known as a heuristic evaluation. In the web site review, we would attempt to accomplish relevant user goals and evaluate the experience against research-based criteria to uncover design flaws that prevent users from accomplishing their goals. This information would be evaluated and scored across 4 criteria – Value, Navigation, Presentation and Trust.
-
Visual Design
Our visual designers choreograph site behavior within pages. We capture the look, feel, and behavior of each unique screen within sketches and design comps, while incorporating our client’s feedback along the way. This process fosters consensus building and ensures an experience that serves both business objectives and user goals.
-
Responsive Design
Responsive Web design is the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation. The practice consists of a mix of flexible grids and layouts, images and an intelligent use of CSS media queries.
Responsive design, blogs, virtual worlds, the mobile Web — the technology landscape is changing so fast that most business owners are struggling to keep up.
At Consensus, we don’t miss a single tech trend. We harness emerging technology — and drive results for our clients. Consensus invests our time and money in digital R&D. A result of this investment is captured in the our current technology tool set outlined below.
